Objectives of post

• To grow Hire Sales profitably at local and national Account level in key industry sectors- construction, utilities, rail, telecoms,
• To provide Sales and customer service support to the local Portsmouth depot

Job description

• Successful grow profitable sales within the allocated Sales territory in accordance with budget
  
• Manage major accounts in conjunction with National Sales Manager
  
• Research target areas and customer and prepare strategy to win new business and grow market share
  
• Manage pricing of hires and accessories for all accounts taking into account costs (transport, fuel, cables, labour etc)
  
• In conjunction with depot staff ensure that all hire orders are met in a timely and cost efficient way
  
• Manage customer care issues such as complaints, payment problems
  
• Ensure that use of marketing tools are optimised- web-site, brochures, flyers
  
• Support back office sales support- telephone sales, mail shots etc
  
• Provide appropriate cover in depot when required- holiday, absence etc

Reports to: National Sales Manager

Service Engineer

Objectives of post

To support autonomous Abird hire depot supporting overall operation (sales, transport, depot, service, workshop and administration operation) in a safe, efficient and cost effective way, to maximise customer satisfaction and company profitability.

Job description

• On/ off hire checking of equipment (gen sets, fuel tanks, cables,etc)
  
• Preparation of equipment for on-hire including servicing, repair, cleaning, testing
  
• On site servicing, repairs, installation
  
• Majors repairs within workshop when required
  
• Part of on-call rota (includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays)
  

Requirements

• Experienced engineer- mechanical with electrical knowledge
  
• Experience of generators or plant and diesel engines
  
• Good administration skills (IT literate)
  
• Flexible approach to work
  
• Willing to be part of on call rota
  
• FLT permit
  
• Valid driving licence
